Volunteer tutors are provided with six (6) hours of initial training, regular in-service workshops and on-going support from the Literacy Coordinator. Join our collaborative learning community!

We are continuously adapting and expanding to meet the needs of our learners. We often work on projects to expand our capacity for learning and growth. If you have an idea for us or are interested in contributing to our learning community please contact us.
Some of the areas of need that we currently have are:
Contribute to the lending library of learning and teaching resources
Help to publish the Learner to Learner newsletter
Learners have started their own newsletter packed full of learner thoughts, musings and stories. It is written, edited and published by learners. This is a small circulation newsletter intended to showcase the work of learners within our community.
Support Tutor Training
All of the one-on-one learning at Tri-CALA is facilitated by volunteer tutors. To ensure our tutors are equipped with the knowledge and skills to facilitate adult learning we work hard to provide on-going quality training workshops.
